IMO is a voice for teenagers in care and for care leavers. It is somewhere you can share stories, experiences and achievements, get and give advice, and find loads of great free stuff! The Children's Commissioner & IMO have launched a content creation competition for children in care and care leavers aged 16 – 25.
The theme for this competition is ‘Your Biggest Achievement’, which will amplify and highlight the achievements and successes of children in care and care leavers in a creative and accessible way. First prize is 40 hours of driving lessons from the AA – enabling a young person with care experience to learn to drive free of charge (three runner-up prizes of cinema tickets are also on offer).
Children in care and care leavers can enter the competition by writing any piece of content under 800 words that fits with the theme. This can be anything from a blog, short story, poem, rap or song. We will also accept videos and podcasts of up to 5 minutes in length. We have already published lots of incredible pieces of content created by young people with care experience on IMO, and we are really looking forward to seeing the entries to this new competition, further adding to what we have to offer our audience.
Entries can be submitted until 26 April 2019 at 5pm BST. Please support by promoting this competition in your blogs, magazines, newsletters and websites as well as on social media using @imo_latest and #WriteSpeakShare.
